Robin Whitty-Novotny
Director
Robin is celebrating her 20th year as Director/Producer of Wisconsin Singers. A UW graduate and Wisconsin Singers alumna, she has taught all age levels in a variety of professional and public school positions and has served as the Artistic Director of Madison's Children's Choir as well as conducting the UW Women's Choir. Robin teaches private voice lessons, specializing in vocal techniques for pop and musical theater performers. As an educator dedicated to individual growth, Robin has worked with her student staff to develop all aspects of the Wisconsin Singers experience to include leadership and communication workshops and an exemplary mentoring program for incoming freshmen and transfer students.
Chad Schiro
Choreographer
Chad most recently served as Assistant Choreographer of the first Broadway revival of Bye Bye Birdie staring John Stamos. Chad's choreography credits include the Disney film Old Dogs with John Travolta and Robin Williams and productions in the New York Fringe Festival and off-Broadway at Urban Stages and Ars Nova. He was Associate Choreographer of the Broadway productions of Urban Cowboy (2003 Tony Nomination/Best Choreography, Melinda Roy), Master Harold and The Boys, Showboat In Concert at Carnegie Hall and City Center's revival of Can Can starring Patti Lupone. He has performed on Broadway, at The Kennedy Center, Carnegie Hall, Radio City Music Hall, and in Broadway national tours across the United States. TV and Film credits include Sex and The City, Saturday Night Live, The Producers feature film and national commercials for Campbell's Soup, EBay, and Pontiac. Chad's Sketch-And-Dance Odyssey Just Jump! played to sold out audiences in New York and was the recipient of The Ars Nova Encore Award. Thanks to Robin, Jenna, and all of the Singers ever! Angie Canuel
Associate Choreographer
Angie is honored to return to the Singers for her fourth consecutive year. Angie brings three sets of skills to the Singers: dancing on Broadway in Mel Brooks The Producers, experience as an Assistant Choreographer in Warren Carlyle's Finian's Rainbow and serving as one of the producers of Tracy Letts Superior Donuts and Green Day's American Idiot. Her credits include: BWAY: The Producers (Susan Stroman), On the Town(John Rando)and Finian's Rainbow(Warren Carlyle).TV/FILM: Middle Men (George Gallo), The Producers (Susan Stroman), Parco P.I (Mark Farrell). PRODUCER: American Idiot (Michael Mayor-Tony Nomination for Best New Musical), Superior Donuts (Tina Landau) WAT Project (Tall Tales of the Little Black Book by Christopher Warre Smets). Angie is a graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts NYC and has had the privilege of being a member of the faculty, teaching movement to actors. Angie is Co-Founder of her not for profit theatre company Working Artists Theatre Project and is a proud member of her production company AWAKEN ENTERTAINMENT.
Jenna Mood
Orchestration / Arranger
While attending UW Madison, Jenna spent her time studying trombone performance, music education, theory and history. Jenna was in the Wisconsin Singers from 1999-2005 as the trombonist and assistant music director. Upon graduating in 2005 Jenna started her own music arranging business called Triple Forte Arrangements. Jenna works closely with directors to develop show concepts, arranges creative and artistic music and serves as a clinician for choirs, bands and show choirs across the nation. In spring 2009 Jenna arranged music for Walt Disney World's Encore! show entitled "Revolution" A Musical Flashback to the 60's and 70's which was performed by a 300 piece choir and orchestra. Currently, Jenna is the instrumental director for the Madison East Show Band and continues to play trombone in various professional venues. Jenna considers her best accomplishments her marriage to her husband Michael, a Wisconsin Singers alumnus and the birth of her son Simon.
Chris Novotny
Director of Business Operations
Chris is a Wisconsin Singers alumnus who has served on the Friends of Wisconsin Singers Executive Board since its inception in 1994. A talented singer himself, Chris was a founding member of the popular acappella quartet, BC3, and toured professionally for 5 years. He currently owns a commercial real estate firm in Madison, and is working on a number of film and media development projects while pursuing his Executive MBA degree at the UW.
