Why Alyssa Chose her Major: "I'm interested in public health and ecosystem sustainability, and educating the public on why these are so important and linked together. In Life Sciences Communication classes I'm learning important communication tactics to relay these scientific messages to the public, all while still exploring my interests in the hard sciences."

Favorite Things: Cheesecake, taking pictures (I love looking back at them later and remembering all the memories), wearing FUZZY SOCKS in the winter, corny jokes, cooking with fresh ingredients, footie pajamas, my guilty pleasure -- country music

Dislikes: "Centipedes, peanut butter, people who only drink water out of plastic water bottles , rollercoasters, answering the phone when I don't know the phone number, slow drivers/people who don't use their blinkers"

Favorite Place In Alyssa's Home-State: "Deer Hunting on a family farm that I went to growing up. (It is so serene and peaceful to be secluded from the rest of the world in the woods where the deer stands are.)"

If Alyssa had a free night to do whatever she wanted, she would: "If I had a free DAY, I would go kayaking on the lake, and hang out and enjoy the beautiful scenery. But if I had a free NIGHT, I would go out to dinner with friends, and just hang out and make memories together."
