Audition Call

Wisconsin Singers is UW–Madison’s premier Broadway-style touring production, combining high-level performance with meaningful outreach across the Midwest. More than just a show, Wisconsin Singers is a community of artists, educators, and leaders who use music to connect with audiences of all ages — from school gyms and community theaters to professional performing arts centers.
Each season, Wisconsin Singers creates a fully staged, original production featuring singers, dancers, a live band, and a dedicated technical crew. Members rehearse weekly on campus, then take the show on the road to represent the University of Wisconsin–Madison through performance, workshops, and community engagement.

 

Being part of Wisconsin Singers means:

Step 1: Prescreen Video Submission (All Applicants)

 

Deadline to Submit:

Saturday, April 25th, 2026

 

How to Submit

Applicants will submit:

  • prescreen video

  • short application form

  • resume or activity list (optional but encouraged)

 

Videos may be recorded on a phone—professional studio recording is not required.

 

What We Look For in Prescreens

 

We are looking for:

  • musicality and performance quality

  • storytelling and stage presence

  • ability to take direction

  • energy, attitude, and openness to learning

  • Potential—not perfection

 

Step 2: In-Person Callback Auditions (By Invitation Only)

Callback Notification

 

Applicants selected from prescreens will receive a callback invitation with:

  • date, time, and location

  • what to prepare

  • schedule for the day

 

Callbacks will take place on UW–Madison campus.

 

What Callbacks Include:

Singer/Dancers

  • group dance call

  • vocal solo and harmony work

  • brief interview/conversation

Band Members

  • sight-reading or prepared excerpts

  • playing with other musicians

  • rhythm/groove evaluation

  • brief interview

Tech Crew

  • problem-solving and scenario questions

  • teamwork activities

  • conversation about interests and availability

In-Person Audition Accommodation:

If you are unable to submit an online prescreen audition or require access to an instrument (such as a keyboard or drum set) in order to complete your audition, an in-person audition can be arranged.
